Avoiding my money problems simply compounded them. I had to change my mindset to confront them over the long haul.
In 2010 I found myself in unmanageable debt of over £250,000, yet within four years, during which time I still had more than enough money to live on, I was completely debt-free and have been in full control of my finances ever since.
There was no new job, lottery win, or significant pay rise involved. In fact, I lost my job. It was all about changing my mental approach to the problem. Here is some of the thinking I adopted which helped me clear my debts and keep my finances in control for life.
